Valve clearance adjustment is an important aspect in motorcycle engine maintenance that affects engine performance, fuel consumption, and exhaust emissions. This study aims to analyze the effect of valve clearance variations on engine performance, specific fuel consumption, and exhaust emissions on the 2022 Honda Beat Injection using Pertamax fuel (RON 92). The study used an experimental method with three variations of valve clearance, namely standard (0.15 mm intake and 0.20 mm exhaust), reduced (0.10 mm intake and 0.15 mm exhaust), and enlarged (0.20 mm intake and 0.25 mm exhaust). The parameters measured include power, torque, Specific Fuel Consumption (SFC), CO, and HC emissions. Power and torque data were obtained using a chassis dynamometer, while fuel consumption and emissions were measured using a fuel consumption meter and a gas analyzer. The results showed that standard conditions produced the best performance with a maximum power of 6.8 kW at 7,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 9.2 Nm at 5,500 rpm, which is still in line with the performance characteristics of the 2022 Honda Beat. The lowest SFC value was obtained under standard conditions at 285 g/kWh. The lowest CO and HC emissions were also obtained under standard conditions, at 1.24% and 186 ppm, respectively. The analysis showed that deviations in valve clearance from manufacturer specifications cause decreased engine performance, increased fuel consumption, and increased exhaust emissions. Therefore, adjusting valve clearance according to manufacturer specifications provides better engine performance and emission quality.
