Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the implementation of the Game-Based Learning model and communication skills on students’ learning outcomes. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method. The research sample consisted of two classes: an experimental class (using the Game-Based Learning model) and a control class (using a conventional learning model), with 35 students in each class. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and learning outcome tests. The data were analyzed using a two-way ANOVA test. The results revealed a significant effect of the Game-Based Learning model and communication skills on students’ learning outcomes. The calculated F-value was 303.672 with a significance level of 0.000, which is lower than 0.05; therefore, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected. It can be concluded that the implementation of the Game-Based Learning model and communication skills have a positive and significant effect on students’ learning outcomes. This model can serve as an alternative approach to create a more engaging learning environment, enhance student participation, and improve academic achievement, particularly in Economics subjects

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of critical thinking skills and collaboration skills on the learning outcomes of 11th-grade DPB students in the subject of Creative Products and Entrepreneurship (PKWU) at SMKN 4 Kota Jambi. The research uses a quantitative approach with a correlational design. Data were collected through questionnaires and student grade documentation, with a sample size of 75 students. Multiple linear regression analysis was employed to measure both simultaneous and partial effects of the independent variables. The results indicate a significant simultaneous effect of critical thinking and collaboration skills on students' learning outcomes. Partially, each variable also showed a positive influence. Therefore, it can be concluded that enhancing students’ critical thinking and collaboration abilities contributes to better learning achievement, especially in skills-based subjects such as PKWU. This research is expected to provide valuable insights for teachers and school administrators in designing more effective and engaging learning strategies.
