Abstract

The development of tourism villages plays a crucial role in fostering the community's creative economy, expanding local business opportunities, and creating new jobs. Lembur Mangrove Patikang in Citeureup Village, Pandeglang Regency, Banten, is one such tourism village that holds potential but has not yet succeeded. A survey conducted by the architecture study program team at Pradita University—aimed at assessing existing conditions, identifying needs to enhance tourism value, and gathering residents' aspirations—revealed two primary issues: a lack of proper planning for tourism village facilities and insufficient community awareness of environmental preservation. To generate a design while raising awareness, the tourism village planning process employed a community-based participatory approach, with students assisting under the guidance of architecture lecturers. The design process focused on layout, visitor behavior analysis, material selection, and ergonomic studies to determine appropriate facility dimensions for visitor comfort. This participatory planning process resulted in a design for the Lembur Mangrove Patikang Park, featuring a reception area, a meeting point, an information center, rest areas, and culinary tourism spots, while also serving as a hub for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM). The village authorities subsequently utilized this design for the construction phase, funded by local government grants.
