Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the habituation of Dhuha prayer in shaping the character of students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Darul Falah Bangsal Mojokerto. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, with the principal, teachers, and the school environment serving as the main sources of information. Data analysis used the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which consists of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that the habituation of Dhuha prayer is implemented systematically through the stages of preparation, implementation, mentoring, and supervision. Teachers play an important role as guides, supervisors, motivators, and role models in developing students’ consistency. The habituation of Dhuha prayer functions not only as a religious activity but also as a medium for internalizing moral values through repetition, exemplary behavior, guidance, and supervision. The character traits developed include discipline, responsibility, obedience in worship, orderliness, politeness, religious attitudes, and concern for the surrounding environment. Supporting factors for the implementation of the program include the commitment of the madrasah, teacher involvement, the availability of facilities and infrastructure, program consistency, and family support. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include differences in students’ levels of awareness and discipline, tardiness, lack of seriousness, and certain conditions that may disrupt the implementation of the activity. This study demonstrates that the habituation of Dhuha prayer can serve as an effective strategy for character education when implemented consistently and integrated with exemplary behavior and behavioral guidance in students’ daily lives.
