Abstract

The street lighting system (PJU) plays a crucial role in improving the safety and comfort of road users. To ensure optimal PJU operation, the availability of material components such as lamps, cables, and control panels must be well managed. However, in material procurement practices, systematic inventory management methods have not been implemented, such as calculating reorder quantities, analyzing stock demand, and implementing safety stock for each component. Imbalances in stock management often lead to shortages of certain materials, which impacts delays in PJU maintenance and installation. Therefore, this study aims to propose the application of the min-max method as a strategy for managing PJU material inventory in a more structured and efficient way. The min-max method is used to determine the optimal amount of stock that must be available, determine the reorder time, and calculate the amount of material that needs to be ordered to ensure the continuity of PJU operations. This study produces systematic steps in planning the purchase of material components, starting from analyzing average demand, managing maximum demand, determining minimum and maximum inventory, calculating order quantity, and planning material requirements for the next period.
