Abstract

Clean and Healthy Living Practices (PHBS), particularly Handwashing with Soap (CTPS), are effective preventive measures in curbing the spread of infectious diseases among school-aged children. However, the level of knowledge and practical skills regarding CTPS among students at SDN 2 Banjarsari remains relatively low due to unengaging educational methods. This community service activity aims to improve students' knowledge and skills regarding PHBS and CTPS through a multimodal educational approach. The program was held on July 14, 2026, and involved 56 students in grades 1–6. The methods used included educational sessions, storytelling, a demonstration of the six steps of CTPS, a simple science experiment titled "Lada Kabur," hands-on practice, and evaluation using pre-tests, post-tests, and observation sheets. The results showed a significant increase in knowledge, marked by a rise in the "very good" category from 1.8% on the pre-test to 92.9% on the post-test. Practical CTPS skills also improved, as evidenced by the fact that 91% of students were able to correctly perform the six steps of CTPS after the intervention, compared to none who were able to do so before the activity.
