Abstract

This study explores the impact of the Human Development Index, population dynamics, and the open unemployment rate on poverty levels across districts and cities in Aceh Province. Using panel data regression analysis with a Random Effects Model, the study yields insightful findings: specifically, the Human Development Index exhibits a significant negative effect on poverty, highlighting that higher levels of development are correlated with poverty reduction. Although population size exhibits a negative trend related to poverty, this effect is not statistically significant. Conversely, the open unemployment rate exhibits a significant negative relationship with poverty, suggesting that increased employment opportunities can contribute to poverty reduction. When considered collectively, the Human Development Index, population size, and the open unemployment rate have a positive and significant combined effect on poverty levels in the region. Based on these findings, it is recommended that the government focus on improving educational attainment (literacy), health indicators (such as life expectancy and purchasing power), curbing rapid population growth, and expanding employment and entrepreneurship opportunities. These measures are crucial for effectively reducing poverty and promoting sustainable development across districts and cities in Aceh..
