However, students’ writings still show variations in terms of information completeness, objectivity, journalistic language, and writing style. This study aims to describe students’ news writing ability on Ctzone Dehasen Online Media. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research informants were students who actively wrote news articles for Ctzone Dehasen. The data were analyzed through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that students’ news writing ability is fairly good. In terms of message mastery, students are able to select relevant topics, create interesting titles, and fulfill the elements of who, what, when, where, why, and how. In terms of objectivity, students attempt to present information based on facts and avoid personal opinions. In terms of journalistic language and writing style, students use simple, concise, clear, communicative, and easy-to-understand language for readers. Nevertheless, students still need to improve data accuracy, language consistency, and objectivity in order to produce more professional news articles.
