Abstract

This study aims to analyze the institutional transformation of *pesantren* (Islamic boarding schools) through the implementation of the Learning Organization and Knowledge Ecology approaches at Pondok Pesantren Modern Subulussalam Kresek, Tangerang. The research employs a qualitative case study design, with data collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis involving school leadership, teachers, staff, and students. Data analysis was conducted using techniques of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the implementation of Learning Organization principles has not yet contributed to the development of a continuous learning culture, collaborative decision-making, human resource capacity building, or organizational adaptability. Conversely, the Knowledge Ecology approach has strengthened knowledge-sharing practices, fostered innovation, encouraged stakeholder collaboration, and optimized the use of digital technology in educational and administrative processes. These approaches have positively influenced institutional governance, educational quality, leadership development, and organizational sustainability. The study concludes that integrating the Learning Organization and Knowledge Ecology frameworks serves as an effective strategy for institutional transformation, enabling the *pesantren* to become an adaptive, innovative, and sustainable.

Abstract

Organizational behavior is a fundamental factor in determining the effectiveness and quality of management in educational institutions, including Islamic educational institutions. However, studies on organizational behavior have largely been dominated by a positivist paradigm that emphasizes solely empirical and rational aspects, thereby failing to adequately accommodate the dimensions of values, spirituality, and transcendence—which are the defining characteristics of Islamic education. This article aims to critically examine the paradigms and epistemology of organizational behavior within the context of Islamic educational institutions. The study employs a qualitative approach based on library research, analyzing both classical and contemporary literature from the perspectives of modern management and Islamic educational philosophy. The findings indicate that developing organizational behavior within Islamic educational institutions requires an integrative paradigm that combines scientific rationality, empirical experience, and values derived from divine revelation. Islamic epistemology offers a holistic framework that establishes the Qur’an, Hadith, reason, and experience as the primary sources of organizational knowledge. The article recommends a *Tawhid*-based conceptual model of organizational behavior that emphasizes the values of *amanah* (trustworthiness), justice, *musyawarah* (consultation), and Islamic professionalism as the foundation for managing Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

Social change, digitalization, and the increasing complexity of community needs require mosque-based organizations, particularly the Mosque Youth Association (Ikatan Remaja Masjid/IRM), to continuously transform their organizational management practices. This article aims to analyze the strengthening of IRM organizational management through the approaches of the learning organization and knowledge ecology, integrated with the Islamic values of siddiq (truthfulness) and amanah (trustworthiness). The study employs a qualitative descriptive literature review by examining relevant scholarly articles, books, and research reports. The findings indicate that the learning organization approach fosters a culture of collective learning, while knowledge ecology enhances the processes of knowledge creation, sharing, and utilization within the organization. The integration of the value of siddiq promotes organizational transparency and honesty, whereas amanah strengthens accountability and responsible leadership. The synergy of these three dimensions significantly enhances organizational capacity, improves the quality of work programs, increases member participation, and supports the long-term sustainability of mosque youth organizations. Therefore, the transformation of IRM organizational management requires the strengthening of a learning culture, a robust knowledge ecosystem, and the internalization of prophetic values as the foundation of adaptive organizational governance.

Abstract

Higher education institutions play a strategic role in developing academic cultures that are not only oriented toward scientific advancement but also toward environmental sustainability. In response to increasingly complex global challenges, universities are required to establish learning systems that enhance organizational capacity while fostering ecological awareness among academic communities. The concepts of learning organization and ecological knowledge have emerged as relevant approaches to promoting adaptive, innovative, and sustainable academic cultures. However, studies integrating these two concepts within the context of strengthening sustainability-based academic culture remain limited, particularly in Islamic higher education institutions. This study aims to analyze the role of learning organization and ecological knowledge in strengthening an academic culture based on environmental sustainability at Institut Shalahuddin Al-Ayyubi Tambun Bekasi. The study employs a qualitative approach using a library research method. Data were collected from various scholarly sources, including books, journal articles, academic documents, and previous studies related to learning organization, ecological knowledge, academic culture, and environmental sustainability.
