Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of jump rope training on long jump performance among members of the Musi Rawas Regency Athletics Club. The long jump is one of the oldest branches of athletics in the world. To improve long jump results, athletes were given training using jump rope exercises during the training process. This research employed an experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design, and the sample was selected using a random sampling technique. Measurements were taken using three long jump attempts, with the farthest jump recorded as the final score. The Wilcoxon test and paired sample t-test were used to analyze the data. Based on the statistical output “Test Statistics,” the Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value was found to be 0.000. Since 0.000 is smaller than 0.05, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. This study concludes that the jump rope game method has a significant effect on long jump results at the Musi Rawas Regency Athletics Club.
