Abstract

The teaching of the Bible about sin and repentance to Sunday School children at GKSI Filadelfia Rengas Kapuas is a ministry program aimed at introducing Christian faith values from an early age. Children need to be guided to understand the meaning of sin as a violation of God's will and the importance of repentance in their lives. This ministry program is carried out through systematic Bible teaching using several learning methods, such as material presentation, interactive discussions, and various creative activities adjusted to the children's level of understanding. Through these methods, children are encouraged to understand the concepts of sin and repentance in a simple and meaningful way. The expected outcome of this ministry is that the Sunday School children at GKSI Filadelfia Rengas Kapuas will gain a better understanding of the meaning of sin and repentance, so that they are able to recognize actions, words, and attitudes that are not in accordance with God’s will, and learn to live a life of repentance in their daily lives.

Abstract

The participation of young people in church ministry is an essential aspect of sustaining the church’s mission and community dynamics. However, many churches face challenges related to low youth participation due to cultural shifts, limited program relevance, and insufficient personal approaches that address their emotional and spiritual needs. This study aims to explain the relational methods practiced by internship students as an effort to increase youth participation in church ministry. The relational approach is understood as a process of building authentic, warm, inclusive, and sustainable relationships through two-way communication and mentoring that emphasizes emotional closeness. This study employs a qualitative method with participatory observation techniques. The findings indicate that internship students can serve as effective intergenerational mediators because of their close age range, communication style that is more acceptable to young people, and ability to facilitate a safe space for dialogue. The relational approach not only increases young people’s motivation to participate but also strengthens their confidence and willingness to assume ministry responsibilities.
