Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of meaningful learning (deep learning) as an effort to train early childhood social literacy skills at PAUD Ar Ridho, Bettet Village, Pamekasan. Social literacy is a crucial 21st-century competence comprising communication, collaboration, empathy, and positive social participation. However, early observations revealed that many children exhibited individualistic behavior and faced social detachment due to gadget addiction, coupled with teacher-centered rote-learning methods. This research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection techniques include non-participant observation, semi-structured interviews with teachers and school heads, and documentation analysis. Data triangulation is used to ensure validity. The results demonstrate that deep learning implementation via game-based learning, social interaction projects, scaffolding, and contextual inquiry actively engages children's prior knowledge, fosters deep conceptual understanding, and successfully enhances social literacy aspects such as empathy, interpersonal communication, and group collaboration. Implication of this learning process shows significant transformation in children's active social participation and communication skills.
