Abstract

This research primarily endeavors to offer empirical insights into the immediate effects of. Digital Competence (X) on Job Search Self-Efficacy (Y), alongside exploring the Perceived Value of Micro-Credential Certifications (Z) as a potential mediating pathway. The academic novelty of this study stems from its incorporation of micro-credential perceived value as a key psychological mechanism as a psychological mediator for the job readiness of higher education graduates in Indonesia. Utilizing a quantitative method, data were gathered from 149 final-year students at Padjadjaran University via purposive sampling and analyzed using PLS-SEM. Statistical analysis provides robust empirical support indicating that Digital Competence acts as a strong driver for both Job Search Self-Efficacy and the Perceived Value of Certifications. Conversely, the Perceived Value of Certifications fails to demonstrate a statistically significant impact on Job Search Self-Efficacy, resulting in a status of no mediation. A notable constraint of this research lies in its narrow empirical boundary, as the investigation was conducted within a single institutional setting and relied entirely on self-reported subjective assessments. Effectively, the implication underscores that universities must prioritize equipping students with actual technical capabilities rather than focusing on administrative certificate accumulation to build authentic Job Search Self-Efficacy.
