Abstract

The high fertility rate in East Nusa Tenggara Province remains a development challenge because it contributes to poverty and welfare inequality. This study aims to analyze the effects of contraceptive use, infant mortality rate, female labor force participation, average wages, and female education level on fertility in 10 regencies/cities in East Nusa Tenggara Province during 2019-2023. This research uses a quantitative method with secondary data and panel data regression using the Fixed Effect Model (FEM). The results show that contraceptive use, infant mortality rate, and female education level have a negative and significant effect on fertility. Meanwhile, female labor force participation and average wages have a negative but insignificant effect.
