<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the ratio of population to the number of food needs. Using descriptive analysis method and survey technique conducted in six districts of parent in Intan Jaya Regency are Homeyo District, Biandoga, Hitadipa, Sugapa, Wandai and Agisiga. Each district took 65 randomly selected households so that the total subject was 400 households. The type of data used is primary data and secondary data. Measurement of food security of the region using the ratio of two indicators of food security namely, food availability and consumption adequacy. An area is said to be food insecure if the Food Ratio (RP) is <0.8, food resistant but less secure (foodable) if 0.8 <RP <1.2, and food ratio is guaranteed if RP> 1,2. Data analysis using descriptive statistical analysis. The results showed that the average food security ratios per district were 0.5 and still very far from the expected ratio of> 1,2 or 1,3. This means that food security in the region of Intan Jaya Regency enter the criteria of food insecurity. Most of the population in Intan Jaya Regency are food insecure. 50 percent of the population in Sugapa district are food insecure and vulnerable to food. Meanwhile, the population with the most food-resistant status is in the districts of Sugapa, Biandoga, Hitadipa and Wandai. Average consumption requirement per resident is 34,35 kg / month and consumption requirement 3093,84 ton / month. The total availability of the area is only 1457,450 tons / month, so it is only enough for 47.58 percent or 16.18 kg / month consumption and still needs additional food.]]>
