Abstract

This development research aimed to produce a valid, practical, and effective local wisdom-based chemistry e-module integrated with the Culturally Responsive Transformative Teaching (CRTT) model to improve students’ critical thinking skills. The research followed the 4D model (define, design, develop, disseminate). Data were collected using validation sheets, observations sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and pretest-posttest instruments, and analyzed using the N-Gain test. Expert validators assessed the e-module’s validity using a Likert scale, obtaining 0.81 (highly valid), with reliability above 75%. Practicality, assessed through teacher and student questionnaires, reached approximately 85.5% and 84.75%, respectively (highly practical). The N-Gain test for critical thinking skills was 0.71 falling in the effective category. These findings indicate that the developed e-module, teaching module, and assessment instruments are valid, practical, and effective for improving student’ critical thinking skills.
