Abstract

This study was motivated by the low mastery of social interaction material among fourth-grade students at SDN Pehwetan 1 due to teacher-centered instruction and the limited use of instructional media. Learning activities were still dominated by lectures and textbooks, causing students to become less active and experience difficulties in understanding contextual concepts of social interaction. This research aimed to develop an interactive learning multimedia called INTERSOS that is valid, practical, and effective in improving students' mastery of social interaction material. The study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The research subjects involved material experts, media experts, fourth-grade teachers, and fourth-grade students of SDN Pehwetan 1. Data were collected through validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and learning achievement tests (pre-test and post-test). The data were analyzed using percentage analysis and the N-Gain test. The results showed that INTERSOS achieved a validity score of 87% (highly valid), practicality scores of 82.25% in the limited trial and 86% in the wider trial (highly practical), and effectiveness based on N-Gain scores of 0.81 and 0.83 (effective). Therefore, INTERSOS is feasible and effective as an instructional multimedia to improve elementary school students' mastery of social interaction material.
