Abstract

Community-based initiatives are one of the ways the government is working to increase understanding and awareness of various issues related to environmental conditions. Proklim has become a national program aimed at adapting to the impacts of climate change and mitigating greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Through the #SedekahOksigen campaign, Proklim Pekayon in Bekasi City emphasizes the importance of greening initiatives in daily life. The purpose of this study is to measure the extent to which the #SedekahOksigen campaign influences increased environmental awareness. The independent variable in this study is the Public Relations Campaign (Ruslan, 2023), with the dimensions of Public Awareness, Information Provision, Public Education, Reinforcement of Attitudes and Behavior, and Behavior Modification. The dependent variable in this study is Environmental Awareness (Clayton, 2021), with the dimensions of Environmental Knowledge, Environmental Attitudes, Environmental Behavior, and Environmental Empathy. This study employs a quantitative approach and a survey method. The population for this study consists of residents of RW 11 Pekayon Jaya in the city of Bekasi, with a sample of 75 respondents selected using simple random sampling. The data analysis technique used simple linear regression. The results of this study indicate that the #SedekahOksigen campaign conducted by Proklim Pekayon has a significant effect on increasing environmental awareness. This is evidenced by a calculated t-value of 12.91 > 1.66, indicating a positive effect. The R-squared value of 0.696 indicates that Proklim’s Public Relations #SedekahOksigen campaign accounts for 69.6% of the increase in environmental awareness. The remaining 30.4% is attributed to variables outside the scope of this study.
