<![CDATA[Abstract: Students' reading interest is a crucial aspect of primary education, encompassing not only reading ability but also interest, motivation, attention, and engagement in reading activities. The family environment—specifically parenting styles—is a factor that can foster the development of children's reading habits and interests. This study aims to analyze parenting styles, describe reading interest, and examine the influence of parenting styles on the reading interest of second-grade students at SDN 3 Panembahan. A quantitative approach with a correlational survey design was employed, involving 31 students selected via total sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires on parenting styles and reading interest, then analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality tests, linearity tests, and simple linear regression with the aid of IBM SPSS Statistics. The results indicate that parenting styles had a mean score of 58.84 (range: 41–74), while reading interest had a mean of 57.68 (range: 40–75). The linearity test yielded a "Sig. Deviation from Linearity" value of 0.580 (> 0.05). Regression results showed an F-value of 10.039 (Sig. = 0.004) and a t-value of -3.168 (Sig. = 0.004). An R-square value of 0.257 indicates that parenting styles explain 25.7% of the variation in reading interest scores, while the remaining 74.3% lies outside the research model.
