Abstract

Gender inequality manifested in masculine dominance in the legal realm remains a systemic challenge. This research focuses on the Youth Pledge College of Law (STIHPADA) in Palembang, where, based on active student data from 2022-2025, there are 1,370 male students and 340 female students. The sociocultural paradigm that labels women as emotional often clashes with legal competency standards that demand assertiveness, thus triggering communication barriers for female students. Based on these conditions, this research was conducted to in-depth analyze the phenomenon of gender stereotypes experienced by STIHPADA female students and to examine the communication strategies they employ as a form of resilience through a managerial perspective. This qualitative research using a case study method collected data through in-depth interviews with six female students and one lecturer. The research findings revealed that female students manage their identity through the Planning phase by establishing a career vision, organizing by prioritizing academic tasks over domestic burdens, actuating through assertive communication, and controlling through reflective evaluation of environmental responses. Their success in building a planned communicative agency proves that the managerial function is capable of deconstructing sociocultural barriers in the legal field to achieve professional autonomy
