Abstract

Content related to Brave Pink and Hero Green circulating on social media represents a form of digital political communication frequently encountered by Indonesian youth, including members of the Indonesian Students Association in Malaysia (PPI Malaysia). These contents convey political messages through visuals and narratives that appear repeatedly, which may influence how audiences understand and evaluate political issues. This study aims to examine the relationship between the frequency of exposure to Brave Pink and Hero Green content on social media and the political perceptions of PPI Malaysia members. This study employs a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The population consists of 165 members of PPI Malaysia, of whom 135 respondents were selected as the sample using a total sampling technique. Data were collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using Spearman’s correlation test. The results indicate that the frequency of exposure to Brave Pink and Hero Green content has a positive and significant relationship with the political perceptions of PPI Malaysia members (ρ = 0.573). These findings suggest that the more frequently respondents are exposed to political content on social media, the more likely they are to develop certain political perceptions regarding the issues presented. This study is expected to provide insights into the role of social media exposure frequency in shaping the political perceptions of Indonesian students living abroad.
