Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using the letter spinning wheel media on the reading learning interest of 1st-grade students at SDN 53 Palembang. This research employs a pre-experimental method with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The subjects of the study were 28 1st-grade students. The instrument used was a short essay test consisting of 10 questions to measure learning interest before and after the treatment. The learning process in the classroom utilized the letter spinning wheel media. Based on the statistical test results, it showed a value of 0.000 < 0.025 and a 2-tailed sig. value o f 0,935 > 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is an effect of using the letter spinning wheel media on the reading learning interest of 1st-grade students at SDN 53 Palembang.
