Abstract

Current developments in information technology provide significant opportunities for the preservation and dissemination of cultural heritage information, particularly stone statues classified as cultural heritage objects. The Cultural Preservation Office of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, as an institution responsible for protecting, developing, and utilizing culture, holds a collection of stone statues that requires modern data management. This study aims to design and implement the digitization of stone statue descriptive catalogs into an interactive digital flipbook easily accessible via barcode scanning. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a literature review approach, supported by observation and documentation during an internship program at the Cultural Preservation Office of the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The process of creating this digital catalog involves several systematic stages, including detailed physical documentation of the stone statues, research and identification of historical sources, visual layout design using graphic software, document uploading to an interactive flipbook platform, and the generation of accessibility barcodes. The result of this research is a ready-to-use interactive digital catalog that is proven to be accessible to the public without physical limitations of time and space. Administratively, the implementation of this technology streamlines physical data storage and is expected to reduce print publication costs while enhancing public engagement in studying the ancestral historical heritage of the archipelago.
