Abstract

Compliance with iron tablets refers to the extent to which pregnant women follow the recommendations of health workers to take them. Compliance with iron tablets is measured by the accuracy of the number of tablets consumed, the correct method of consumption, and the frequency of daily consumption. Based on data from the Kaur District Health Office, the percentage of pregnant women receiving iron tablets in Kaur Regency has exceeded the target of 93%, out of the 80% target. Of the 2,412 pregnant women, 2,244 received iron tablets. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women and compliance with iron (Fe) tablet consumption in the coastal area of the Bintuhan Community Health Center (Puskesmas) in Kaur Regency in 2025. The study used a cross-sectional design. The population in this study was all 198 pregnant women in the third trimester at the Bintuhan Community Health Center. The sample size was 45. The sample was selected using accidental sampling. The results of the study are presented in univariate and bivariate analyses using the chi-square test at 5% α. The results showed a significant relationship between knowledge and adherence to iron tablet consumption in the Bintuhan Community Health Center (0.012) and a significant relationship between attitudes and adherence to iron tablet consumption in pregnant women in the Bintuhan Community Health Center (0.003).It is recommended that the results of this study provide additional data for the community health center in evaluating improvements to the maternal and child health program.
