Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using Arabic content on the YouTube channel “Arab Podcast” on improving the Arabic speaking skills of tenth-grade students at Ma’had As-Sunnah Makassar. Speaking skill is one of the main competencies in Arabic language learning that reflects students’ ability to use the language communicatively and functionally in real-life contexts. The research employed a quantitative approach with an experimental method. Data were collected through speaking skill tests, classroom observations, and interviews. The test instrument covered four main aspects: linguistic accuracy (grammar and morphology), fluency, pronunciation accuracy, and comprehension of meaning and context. The results revealed a significant improvement of 18.5% between the pre-test (mean score: 67) and post-test (mean score: 85.5). The highest improvement was observed in pronunciation (22%), followed by fluency (19%), comprehension (18%), and grammar (15%). In addition, observation and interview results showed increased student motivation, self-confidence, and active participation in Arabic speaking activities. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of “Arab Podcast” as a digital learning medium is effective in enhancing Arabic speaking skills. This medium creates an interactive and contextual learning atmosphere aligned with modern technological developments, making it highly relevant for Arabic language education in Islamic institutions.
