Abstract

Utilizing goat waste as organic fertilizer is a strategic solution to address the scarcity and high cost of chemical fertilizers. This community service program was implemented in Karangharjo Village, Silo District, Jember Regency, with the aim of improving the quality of organic fertilizer through the innovation of making granular fertilizer with the addition of Trichoderma sp. The activity method included preparation stages, socialization, practical training in fertilizer making, and participatory discussions with farmer groups. The production process was carried out by fermenting goat manure using EM4 and molasses, then fermented into compost, ground, and processed with a granulator machine. At the granulation stage, Trichoderma sp. powder was added to accelerate decomposition and increase the effectiveness of the fertilizer. The results of the activity showed that farmers were able to produce granular organic fertilizer with a stable structure, long shelf life, and active microbial content. Respondent surveys also showed an increased understanding of the importance of livestock waste processing, although production skills still require further assistance. This innovation not only provides a solution to the limitations of chemical fertilizers, but also opens up micro-business opportunities, strengthens local food security, and supports sustainable agriculture based on village resources.
