Abstract

The Society 5.0 era requires Indonesian language learning to focus not only on language proficiency but also on strengthening digital literacy as a multidimensional competency. However, in educational practice, digital literacy is often treated as a complementary element rather than being fully integrated into the learning process. This study aims to analyze the strategies for implementing digital literacy in Indonesian language learning that are relevant to the demands of the 21st century and the Society 5.0 era. This research employed a qualitative approach using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) design. The research subjects consisted of 10 scholarly articles on digital literacy in Indonesian language learning published between 2021 and 2025 and retrieved from Google Scholar, with no trial participants involved. Data were collected through document analysis using an article extraction and analysis sheet covering research objectives, methods, implementation strategies, and findings. Data were analyzed through the stages of identification, screening, selection, data reduction, synthesis, and thematic interpretation. The findings indicate that the implementation of scientific debates, interactive digital media, the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI), and ethics-based digital literacy training can enhance students’ language skills, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and digital responsibility. Nevertheless, the implementation remains constrained by limited infrastructure, unequal access to technology, and varying levels of teachers’ digital competence. The study concludes that digital literacy should be integrated as an essential component of Indonesian language learning rather than merely serving as a supporting tool. The implications highlight the need for policies and learning strategies that strengthen teachers’ digital competencies and foster adaptive, critical, and responsible learners.
