Abstract

This study aims to analyze local government strategies in implementing public policies to support sustainable development. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design conducted at the Sukabumi City Government. Informants were selected using purposive sampling and included local government officials, members of the regional legislative council, academics, and community leaders. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis, while data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and SaldaƱa, consisting of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings indicate that effective public policy implementation is supported by strengthening good governance, enhancing institutional capacity, adopting collaborative governance, promoting public service innovation, and accelerating digital government transformation. These strategies have improved inter-agency coordination, public service quality, transparency, and stakeholder participation in the development process. However, several challenges remain, including limited cross-sector coordination, inadequate human resource capacity, fragmented information systems, and low public participation in policy evaluation. The study concludes that successful sustainable development requires synergy among good governance, institutional strengthening, multi-stakeholder collaboration, and the continuous utilization of digital technology to improve the effectiveness of public policy implementation.
