Abstract

Religiosity serves as a key internal factor that strengthens individuals’ capacities for both general and academic resilience. The belief that life events align with a divine purpose often fosters optimism, which in turn supports personal resilience. This quantitative study included 113 students of the Psychology Department, Faculty of Medicine, Andalas University during online learning sessions. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression, revealing a statistically significant positive association between religiosity and academic resilience in the context of digital learning. Students with higher levels of religiosity tended to cope with adversity more effectively through consistent prayer and reliance on faith. This process fostered calmer coping with life’s challenges, enhanced confidence in overcoming difficulties, and promoted optimism and a positive outlook on the future.
