Abstract

The increasing need for electrical energy requires the reliability of good electrical power distribution. Because the larger and more complex the distribution system will allow the reliability to decline so that it will result in disruptions/outages.  Intentional or accidental blackouts caused by power interruptions will certainly harm customers and PLN itself. There are several parameters that can be used as a reference in determining the reliability of a distribution system, namely by analyzing SAIFI (System Average Interruption Frequency Index) which is the calculation of the average number of interruptions for one year, SAIDI (System Average Interruption Duration Index) which is the average duration of system interruptions for one year, CAIDI (Customer Average Interruption Duration Index) the average duration of interruptions which is determined based on the number of disturbances that and ASAI (Average Service Availability Index) the ability of a system to supply other systems within a period of one year, expressed as a percentage %.  In this study, the reliability of the electricity system in the service area of Electricidade de Timor-Leste, Empresa Publica (EDTL, E.P) Cai-coli, Dili was evaluated. The reliability index calculation is obtained from customer secondary data and outages/outages from Dili feeders 01 to 11. Based on the analysis, the total value of SAIFI was 0.146 times/customer/year, SAIDI was 2.60 hours/customer/year, CAIDI was 195.16 hours/time/year and ASAI was 1098.33%. All of these values are still below the IEEE std 1366-2003 standard, so the system is categorized as still reliable, meaning that the system responds very quickly in overcoming disturbances.

Abstract

Street lighting is one of the important facilities, to provide comfort and safety for road users at night. The road connecting Dempul-Plaosan Village has no street lighting so that at night it is very dark and prone to accidents and robberies. The location of this road is surrounded by rice fields and sugar cane fields. Geographical factors, the weather tends to be dry and hot, so it has the potential to install solar cells. In determining the potential of solar energy as a source of street lighting, data is obtained from BMKG, calculating practical equations, and designing simulations using PSIM. In this study, it was found that with a daily requirement of 3.24 kWh, a total of 15 50Wp solar panels were needed and the duration of radiation was around 9 hours with an area of 5.25 m2 to meet the needs of street lighting.
