Abstract

This study aims to analyze industrial relations management in improving the employability of Vocational High School (SMK) graduates. Industrial relations serve as a strategic approach implemented by schools to ensure the alignment between graduates' competencies and the needs of the labor market. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The research participants included the principal, the vice principal for industrial relations, vocational teachers, and industry partners. The findings indicate that industrial relations management, implemented through partnership planning, industrial work-based learning (internship) programs, collaborative recruitment with industry, and program evaluation, has contributed significantly to enhancing students' competencies and increasing their employment opportunities. The main supporting factors include effective communication with business and industry sectors, curriculum alignment with industry requirements, and active industry involvement in the learning process. Meanwhile, the primary challenges identified are the limited number of industry partners and the varying competency requirements across different companies. The study concludes that effective industrial relations management has a positive impact on improving the employability and workforce absorption of Vocational High School graduates.
