Abstract

The learning evaluation implementation at Mutiara Baru Vocational School previously used Google Forms, which facilitated the presentation of questions and automated assessments. However, it did not provide a two-way communication tool between students and teachers. This condition made it difficult for students to convey obstacles or questions that arose during the exam process, resulting in less than optimal effectiveness of the learning evaluation. This study aims to design and build a Laravel-based online exam platform equipped with a discussion feature as a communication medium between students and teachers during the exam. The research method used is the Waterfall system development method, which includes needs analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and evaluation. The analysis technique used was descriptive analysis of the system test results and user survey results. The system testing was conducted using the Black Box Testing method and a survey of 18 grade XI students of Mutiara Baru Vocational School. The results showed that the developed online exam platform was able to support the exam process effectively through question management features, automatic assessment, and a discussion forum. The Black Box Testing results showed that all system functions ran as needed, while the user survey results showed that the majority of respondents gave positive responses to the system's ease of use, interface display, and the benefits of the discussion feature. Thus, the developed system can improve the effectiveness of learning evaluation while providing a means of communication between students and teachers in the digital-based exam process.

Abstract

The development of information technology is driving digital transformation in the trade sector, including bicycle shops. Hoki Jaya Shop still uses a manual sales system, resulting in suboptimal data management, market reach, and customer interaction. This research aims to develop a Laravel-based online store website that supports bicycle sales and provides a digital community feature to enhance user interaction. The system development method used is the waterfall method, with stages of requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and system maintenance. The analysis technique used the black-box testing method to verify system functionality based on user needs. The results show that the developed system is capable of running the product catalog, transaction management, user registration, and community forum features effectively. Black-box testing indicates that all system functions run according to user needs. The digital community feature allows users to engage in discussions and interactions, thereby supporting increased customer engagement. This system is expected to help improve sales effectiveness and expand Hoki Jaya Shop's market reach through an integrated digital platform.
