Abstract

The rapid development of financial technology has significantly increased the use of digital wallets in daily transaction activities. Digital wallets such as DANA, OVO, GoPay, ShopeePay, and LinkAja offer various features and promotions that attract users. However, the large number of available digital wallet options often makes it difficult for users to determine the most suitable application for their needs. This subjective selection process—lacking clear criteria-based calculations—has created a need for a systematic and objective decision-making tool. This study aims to build a Decision Support System (DSS) for selecting the best digital wallet using the Weight Product (WP) method, based on questionnaire data collected from 23 active digital wallet users in Indonesia. The questionnaire employed a Likert scale of 1 to 5 to measure respondents' assessments of five criteria: ease of use, transaction security, promotions/cashback, admin fees, and feature completeness. The WP method processes decision-making through weight normalization, calculation of vector Si values, and preference values Vi for each alternative. Survey results show that transaction security (mean = 4.30) and ease of use (mean = 4.13) are considered the most important criteria by respondents. The findings reveal that DANA ranks first with the highest preference value of 0.2325, followed by GoPay (0.2126), ShopeePay (0.2053), OVO (0.1899), and LinkAja (0.1598). The WP method is effective in supporting objective and systematic digital wallet selection.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology has increased the need for laptops as academic support devices for Information Systems students. However, the wide variety of laptop specifications and prices often makes the selection process difficult and subjective. This study aims to develop a Decision Support System for laptop recommendations using a hybrid Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. AHP was applied to determine the priority weights of selection criteria, while SAW was used to rank laptop alternatives based on preference values. The criteria included price, RAM, processor, GPU, storage, and battery. Data were collected from official laptop websites, online marketplaces, and PassMark benchmark data. The study evaluated 12 laptop alternatives within a price range of Rp8,000,000–Rp12,000,000. The results indicate that processor and RAM are the most influential criteria in laptop selection. HP Pavilion Aero 13 achieved the highest preference value of 0.912, making it the best alternative. The proposed AHP-SAW approach effectively provides objective and systematic laptop recommendations that match the academic computing needs of Information Systems students.

Abstract

Students often experience academic pressure that causes stress, boredom, and mental fatigue, which can affect learning concentration and productivity. The large number of tourist destinations in West Sumatra makes it difficult for students to determine healing locations that suit their preferences. This study aims to develop a decision support system for recommending healing destinations for students in West Sumatra using the SMART (Simple Multi Attribute Rating Technique) method. The research used a quantitative approach with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 26 student respondents. The analysis technique was carried out by determining criteria weights, normalizing weights, calculating utility values, and ranking alternatives based on final scores. The criteria used were scenery, facilities, road access, travel distance, and ticket price. The results showed that Jam Gadang obtained the highest score of 0.78, followed by Alahan Panjang with 0.70, making Jam Gadang the most recommended healing destination. This study proves that SMART can provide objective recommendations based on weighted criteria.
