Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that success in futsal is strongly influenced by the technical, tactical and physical abilities of athletes. However, besides these factors, psychological factors can also play an important role in influencing the performance of futsal athletes. Two psychological aspects that can affect athlete performance are Self-Esteem and motivation. This study aims to determine: Is there a relationship between Self-Esteem and the performance of futsal athletes in Sumedang Regency. This research is a correlational study with a cross sectional approach. The research sample was taken using a purposive sampling technique, the number of samples used was 12 futsal athletes in Sumedang Regency. Analysis of the data used is the correlation test and hypothesis testing. The results showed: (1) There is a significant relationship between Self-Esteem and the performance of futsal athletes in Sumedang Regency; (2) There is a significant relationship between motivation and performance of futsal athletes in Sumedang Regency. (3) There is a significant relationship between Self-Esteem and motivation with the performance of futsal athletes in Sumedang Regency
