Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, specifically ChatGPT, in digital-based Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning and evaluate its impact on student learning motivation. Furthermore, this study compares the learning motivation of students utilizing AI with those using conventional learning methods at SMP Negeri 32 Garut. The method used in this study is quantitative research with a quasi-experimental approach. Data were collected through a student learning motivation questionnaire and analyzed using a t-test. The results show that the implementation of ChatGPT as an AI-based learning medium significantly increases student learning motivation. The difference in motivation between the groups using AI and those learning conventionally was also found to be quite significant. This study confirms that the integration of AI technology in PAI learning can be an innovative solution to improve the quality and motivation of student learning, while supporting the development of adaptive and interactive digital-based learning.
