Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concepts of patience and gratitude from Imam Al-Ghazali's perspective as a psychospiritual approach to addressing the quarter-life crisis in late adolescence. The quarter-life crisis phenomenon is characterized by anxiety, confusion about life's direction, social pressure, and uncertainty about the future, which have the potential to cause psychological disorders in late adolescence. This study uses a library research method with a qualitative approach through the analysis of various relevant classical and contemporary literature, particularly Al-Ghazali's works, Islamic psychology, and studies on quarter-life crisis. Data analysis techniques are carried out using content analysis and descriptive-qualitative analysis to interpret the relationship between the concepts of patience and gratitude and the psychological conditions of late adolescence. The results show that patience from Al-Ghazali's perspective is an active ability to control oneself, manage emotions, and endure life's difficulties, while gratitude is an inner awareness to accept and interpret blessings and life experiences positively. These two concepts complement each other in shaping mental resilience, emotional stability, and individual psychological balance. Patience helps adolescents face the pressures and uncertainties of life more calmly, while gratitude helps build optimism and reduces the tendency to compare oneself with others. Furthermore, this study formulates an adaptive and contextual educational model for patience and gratitude through behavioral habituation, spiritual strengthening, and the integration of psychological approaches and Islamic values into daily life. Thus, the concept of patience and gratitude from Al-Ghazali's perspective has strong relevance as an alternative solution to help late adolescents face the quarter-life crisis in a more resilient, meaningful, and spiritual manner.
