Abstract

This study was motivated by the recognition of the importance of fostering Quranic character in children, particularly those in early childhood. Bintani Bimbel, as a non-formal educational institution grounded in the Quran, plays a role in this endeavor. The purpose of this study is to examine the implementation and analyze the impact of Quranic and Sunnah education on the character development of students. This study was conducted using a qualitative method, with data sources obtained through observation, in which the researcher directly observed educators and students at Bintani Bimbel. The researcher also conducted interviews with educators and students regarding the students’ practices in terms of teaching and learning activities as well as the application of Islamic etiquette within the tutoring center environment. The research findings indicate that the implementation of Quranic and Sunnah education at Bintani Bimbel in Cirebon Regency is effective in shaping students’ character, as evidenced by improvements in religious discipline, verbal self-control, and the cultivation of daily etiquette. The dominant factor in this success is the educators’ exemplary behavior, which leads students to directly emulate positive attitudes, while structured Islamic habit-forming activities can accelerate the internalization of values. However, this success is also determined by parental synergy, as students who lack support at home will face difficulties in learning outside the home. Thus, character development based on the Quran and Sunnah will be optimal if it combines exemplary behavior, Islamic habit formation, and full parental involvement.
