Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Hadith on filial piety toward parents from the perspective of the Prophet Muhammad's traditions and examine its implications for the sandwich generation phenomenon. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach based on library research. The analysis utilized the Ma‘ānī al-Ḥadīth approach, encompassing textual, intertextual, and contextual interpretations, supported by three takhrij methods (keyword, initial text, and first narrator) to verify the authenticity of the Hadith. The findings reveal that the Hadith on filial piety transmitted through al-Tirmidhī is classified as ṣaḥīḥ li-dhātihī, as it fulfills the established criteria of authentic transmission and content. Textually, the Hadith emphasizes that serving and honoring one's parents is a form of jihad. Intertextually, it is closely related to other Hadiths that rank filial piety immediately after performing prayer on time among the most beloved deeds to Allah. Contextually, when jihad is not an individual obligation and parents require care and assistance, serving them takes precedence. In the context of the sandwich generation, the Hadith provides ethical guidance for balancing responsibilities toward parents and the nuclear family through patience, sincerity, and responsibility. The study concludes that the values of birr al-wālidayn remain highly relevant as moral and religious principles for addressing the economic, social, and psychological challenges encountered by the contemporary sandwich generation.

Abstract

This study is academically driven by the profound necessity of reinforcing tolerance attitudes among adolescents to mitigate symptoms of social intolerance and primordial exclusivism within Indonesia's highly diverse society. Junior High School represents a vital structural stage for modifying and shaping students' socio-religious affective competencies. The central purpose of this empirical research is to investigate and scientifically analyze the extent of the positive impact and statistical significance of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) instructional quality toward students' tolerance attitudes at SMP Mahardika Bogor. Employing a causal associative quantitative architecture based on simple linear regression modeling, the research identified a macro population of 248 active students, from which a representative sample of 181 students was extracted using proportional distribution procedures. Primary data acquisition was executed using closedended, structured 4-point Likert scale questionnaires to minimize psychological response biases. Prior to hypothesis checking, dataset parameters were subjected to formal diagnostics utilizing the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality method. Inferential parameters were processed utilizing simple linear regression frameworks executed via SPSS version 26 software. Descriptive analytics validated that the standard of Islamic Religious Education implementation at the school resides securely within an optimal and high category. The partial t-test statistical computation generated a t of 10.493, value which substantially exceeds the theoretical t  threshold of 1.973 under d.f = 179, yielding an exact significance table coefficient of 0.000 < 0.05. Consequently, the Null Hypothesis (H ) is formally rejected, and the Alternative Hypothesis 0 (H ) is validated. The coefficient of determination R Square reached 0.381, demonstrating that the PAI instructional quality 1 provides a 38.1% effective predictive contribution toward students' social tolerance variances, while the remaining 61.9% is governed by external socio-ecological variables outside the current regression paradigm. In conclusion, Islamic Religious Education instruction exerts a significantly positive and predictive influence on shaping and expanding students' tolerance attitudes at SMP Mahardika Bogor.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of scientific debate based on Islamic Religious Education (PAI) values and its supporting and inhibiting factors at Pondok Pesantren Daarul Uluum Kampus 212. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving students, mentors, and management34. Data analysis followed the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña interactive model5. The findings reveal that debates are structured using the British Parliamentary model, emphasizing Islamic ethics like honesty, tasamuh, and sharia-based evidence67. This activity significantly improves students' critical thinking in analyzing problems, constructing logical arguments, and evaluating opinions89. Supporting factors include institutional backing and actual issues, while inhibiting factors involve literacy gaps and lack of confidence1011. In conclusion, PAI-based scientific debate effectively develops critical reasoning and fosters civilized Islamic character.
