The suboptimal utilization of Android applications in microcontroller courses at SMK Bhakti Praja Dukuhwaru was the primary motivation for this community service activity. Previously, students had not been fully guided in developing Android applications for effective device control, particularly mobile robots. This situation limited students' knowledge and skills in integrating Android programming technology with microcontroller systems. Therefore, this activity was designed with the primary goal of improving students' knowledge and skills in creating Android applications for mobile robot control using MIT App Inventor. This training activity also included an introduction to the basic concepts of Arduino programming on the ESP8266 microcontroller, which has the ability to connect to Android applications via Bluetooth. The training method was practical and step-by-step, starting with an introduction to the App Inventor interface and features, creating a simple application design, and then proceeding to the programming process for controlling the mobile robot. In addition to controlling the robot, the application was also designed to be applicable to controlling other microcontroller-based electronic devices. The training participants were engineering students at SMK Bhakti Praja Dukuhwaru, who actively participated in the hands-on practice sessions. With a project-based learning approach, students gain not only theoretical knowledge but also hands-on experience designing and testing Android applications connected to microcontroller devices. The expected outcome of this activity is improved student skills in developing Android applications integrated with microcontrollers, as well as a growing interest in robotics technology. Therefore, this activity is expected to make a real contribution to supporting technology-based learning in schools and preparing students for the development of automation and the Internet of Things (IoT)-based industries.
