<![CDATA[Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is an infectious disease commonly found in children and is characterized by cough, runny nose, nasal congestion, and respiratory problems. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2024, there were approximately 3 million ARI cases worldwide in 2022, with an estimated mortality rate ranging from 290,000 to 650,000 deaths. This study aimed to implement family nursing care for a family member with ARI. The study used a qualitative method with a case study approach on the family of Mr. R for 5 days, namely May 1-5, 2026, through home visits in the working area of the Singosari Public Health Center, Pematangsiantar. Data were collected through interviews, observations, physical examinations, and documentation, using a family nursing assessment format, a nursing kit, a health education plan, a leaflet, and the standard operating procedure of effective cough training. The nursing diagnoses identified were Ineffective Airway Clearance, Ineffective Health Maintenance, and Ineffective Family Health Management. After five days of nursing care, the respiratory condition of Miss P improved, the ability to expectorate secretions increased, and the family knowledge and ability to care for the sick family member improved. Family nursing care helped improve the health condition of Miss P and enhanced the family ability to perform family health care tasks. Families are encouraged to implement clean and healthy living behaviors to prevent the recurrence of ARI.]]>
