Abstract

Semarang Regency has been declared by the Central Java Provincial Government as a pioneering MICE destination in 2019. This opportunity must be utilized by the Regional Government and all related stakeholders because MICE can provide multiple effects that drive the wheels of the economic industry, especially in tourist destination areas. This study aims to analyze the potential of MICE in Semarang Regency in terms of the 4 (four) aspects of MICE elements which consist of: (i). accessibility, (ii). attractiveness, (iii). amenity, (iv). human resources and stakeholder support, as well as reviewing MICE development policy strategies in order to increase tourism competitiveness in Semarang Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach and the research method used is phenomenological deductive. Data analysis was carried out descriptively which was sharpened using SWOT analysis so that a structured and comprehensive policy strategy study could be produced. Based on the research results, it can be seen that Semarang Regency has the potential to be developed into a tourism-based MICE destination. Through an examination of the four elements of MICE, a number of advantages can be identified which are the basis for developing MICE activities in Semarang Regency. What then becomes important is to build a collaborative strategy between all stakeholders involved in MICE which is supported by technical strategies in each element of MICE, and also the most important thing is to strengthen human resources and support systems that are mutually reinforcing and implemented on an ongoing basis.

Abstract

Efficient allocation of resources will contribute to development where development itself will be positively correlated to a country's economic growth, good capital spending can increase economic development in the region and capital spending can also become a potential regional investment and can become a regional investment instrument if managed properly, with high efficiency. However, capital expenditure should also be in accordance with the needs and capabilities of the community, both for their socio-economic and psychological needs. If the allocation of capital expenditures is not effective, it will not be able to encourage an increase in regional production, so it will not be able to accelerate economic development in the regions. This research aims to formulate a strategy to increase the effectiveness of the utilization of local government capital goods in supporting regional economic development. This research approach is a mixed approach and descriptive analysis research type. The analysis utilizes the McKinsey 7S framework and takes a case study from Semarang Regency. It is hoped that a strategy can be developed to increase the effectiveness of the use of capital goods so that it can support encouraging local investment flows and economic development in the district area. Strategy to rise up efficiency, effectivity, and impacts of capital budgeting Planning for procurement of spending capital as needed since the previous year, Carry out an inventory of assets to sort capital expenditures that are still needed from those that are no longer needed; Strengthening leadership so that the team focuses on goals; planning and division of work according to the expertise, experience, and abilities of team members; and periodically reporting and evaluation related to the administration and utilization of capital expenditures.

Abstract

Tengaran District is administratively part of the Semarang Regency area, but sociomorphologically, spatially and socioeconomically, its development is greatly influenced by the development of Salatiga City to the north and Boyolali Regency to the south. The aim of this research is to provide direction in sustainable urban planning in Tengaran District. Tengaran Urban Planning will be directed towards the sustainable development of small suburban towns. This planning combines 2 main approaches, namely Sustainable Small Town Planning and Urban Fringe Development. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, while the data collection method uses interviews and direct observation in the field. The research results resulted in a morphological division of the Tengaran District development zone into five parts based on regional development characteristics, namely market zone, inner fringe area, intermediate fringe area and outer fringe area, as well as special areas.

Abstract

The Semarang Regency Regional Library has been supporting its users to increase their knowledge and knowledge informally. In order to continue to improve the reach and quality of its services, research needs to be carried out as a reference for developing Regional Library services so that they can be in line with the needs of users. This research aims to identify efforts that need to be made by the Semarang Regency Regional Library to develop its services based on the preferences of the library community as users of library services. This research was carried out using qualitative methods by extracting data from observations and surveys using purposive sampling by distributing open questionnaires to readers as respondents. The results of the research show that library services are very useful for respondents (60.0%), especially to increase knowledge (25.77%), reduce stress and mental pressure (22.70%), and help complete school or college assignments (21, 47%). The weakness of service at the Regional Library that was most felt by respondents was "the small number and variety of books" (42.37%). Locations for service development based on respondents' choice were Ambarawa (30.21%), West Ungaran (16.67%), Bandungan (13.54%), and Bawen (11.46%). The conclusion of this research is that the Semarang Regency Regional Library service must continue to be developed because it has provided benefits for readers which are realized through increasing the quantity and quality of books, digitizing collections, expanding and repairing buildings which is balanced with the addition of adequate indoor facilities as well as suggestions regarding further development locations. to pay attention to ease of accessibility for the community, especially ease of transportation access to the location.

Abstract

The interest of young people in Indonesia to become farmers is decreasing, which can be seen from the decreasing percentage of young farmers. The purpose of this study is to see the extent to which students have interest and desire to play a role in agricultural development in Semarang Regency, by looking at the leverage factors so that the right approach can be taken in the preparation of the next agricultural development strategy. The approach taken in this study is a qualitative deductive approach with a purposive sampling data collection method with 248 people as respondents. The results of this study explain that there are 67.74% of respondents who are interested in becoming farmers with certain prerequisites that support their interests. Unfortunately, the respondents' understanding of agricultural science is still limited, where 43.55% of respondents understand agricultural science moderately, and only 7.66% understand agriculture in a broad sense. The most needed strategies to support the implementation of the respondents' interest are by strengthening and utilizing the latest agricultural technology, strengthening technical skills and modern agricultural knowledge for farmers, and increasing farmers' income through processing businesses, as well as developing agricultural knowledge and innovation.

Abstract

Tuntang District, Semarang Regency, has vast and diverse cultural and artistic potential, encompassing both contemporary and traditional forms. However, its artistic development has not been optimally explored. This study aims to analyze artistic preferences, sources of introduction, motivation, and formulate a pentahelix-based arts development strategy for junior high school students in Tuntang. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data from 98 respondents was collected using stratified random sampling. The results showed that acting was the primary preference (41%), followed by dance (33%), driven by the motivation to improve their economic well-being through the entertainment world. Schools were found to be a key player in arts introduction, with 81% of respondents being exposed to arts through school assignments and facilities. Motivations varied, ranging from economic incentives (opportunities for independent income), to leisure time (positive recreation), to intrinsic motivation and the preservation of family traditions. However, this research identified a critical juncture in the risk of cultural exclusivity that could marginalize certain groups. As a solution, a short-term development strategy was formulated through strengthening extracurricular activities, and a medium-term strategy through the establishment of a pentahelix forum. Synergy between students, schools, families, communities, government, and the business world is essential for transforming traditional arts into cultural tourism attractions that can improve community welfare while maintaining the sustainability of intangible cultural values.
