Abstract

School counselor or school / madrasah counselor is someone who is responsible for providing guidance and counseling atschool / madrasah consciously on the development ofpersonality and the ability of students both physically andspiritually so that students are able to live independently andfulfill various developmental tasks as God's creatures besides individual and social, moral, religious and cultured creatures. Counseling is an effort to help individuals through a process ofpersonal interaction between counselors and counselees so thatcounselees are able to understand themselves and theirenvironment, are able to make decisions and determine goalsbased on the values they believe so that counselees feel happyand effective behavior. Counseling Guidance is in a keyposition in an educational institution, namely a schoolinstitution as an advanced support or backward quality ofeducation. The role of guidance and counseling in improvingthe quality of education is not only limited to academicguidance but also personal, social, intellectual and value-giving guidance.
