Abstract

Efforts to increase the productivity of land kale plants with environmentally friendly cultivation techniques are by utilizing kitchen waste to be processed into liquid organic fertilizer which can spur plant growth. This study aims to examine the effect of kitchen waste liquid organic fertilizer (POC) on the growth and production of land kale plants. This research was conducted in Tolok Village, Tompaso District, Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi. This research began in October to December 2023. The field experiment was arranged in a Randomized Group Design (RAK), with one treatment factor, namely the concentration of kitchen waste POC, consisting of P0 = 0 ml/l (control), P1 = 25 ml/l, P2 = 50 ml/l, P3 = 75 ml/l, and P4 = 100 ml/l. Parameters observed were plant height, leaf length, number of leaves, and plant fresh weight. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) at the 5% test level if testing with the F test is significant, followed by a different test of the means using the BNT (Least Real Difference) test at the 5% level. The results showed that the provision of POC had an effect on plant height, leaf length, number of leaves, and fresh weight of plants. Giving the best kitchen waste POC is at a concentration of 100 ml/liter, which gives the highest results in all parameters observed. Keywords: liquid organic fertilizer, kitchen waste, land kale

Abstract

Land spinach (Ipomoea reptans Poir) is a type of horticultura plant that is very popular in Indonesia because it has a savory taste and nutriens such as vitamins A, B and C as well as various minerals, especially iron, which are useful for supporting growth and maintaining health as well as maintaining the health of the human body. one of the important aspects in cultivanting land kale is monitoring the growth of the plant and understanding the stages of water spinach development from the beginning of planting to harvest. This research was carried out from April to May 2024 Environment VI, Paal Dua Village, Paal Dua District, North Sulawesi Province. The research used a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 5 levels of treatment namely Bangkok Variety, Bisi Variety, Bika Variety, Serimpi Variety and Rajawali Variety which was carried out in 4 replications in the form of  plots (beds). The results of the research showed that the growth and production of land kale plants BangkokVariety, Bisi Variety, Bika Variety, Serimpi Variety and Rajawali Variety were not significantly different. Keywords: growth and production, land spinach plant varieties

Abstract

Efforts to increase the growth and yield of pak choy (Brassica rapa L.) plants can be done through organic fertilization, one of which is by using coconut water-based POC. This study aims to determine the effect of coconut water POC on the growth and yield of pak choy plants. This study lasted for 2 months from February to April 2025. This study was conducted at the Green House, Faculty of Agriculture, Sam Ratulangi University Manado, using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method with 5 treatments, namely, P₀ Control (without POC), P₁ (POC 20 ml/L water), P₂ (POC 40 ml/L water), P₃ (POC 60 ml/L water) and P₄ (POC 80 ml/L water). Each treatment was repeated 3 times so that there were 15 experimental units with each experimental unit consisting of 3 plants so that a total of 45 plants with the observed variables were plant height, number of leaves, fresh weight and root weight. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and continued with the LSD test at the 5% level with the help of Minitab software version 21. The results showed that the administration of coconut water POC significantly affected all observation parameters. The P₄ treatment (POC 80 ml/L water) produced the highest values for all parameters.   Keywords: coconut water, liquid organic fertilizer, pakcoy, Plant Growth, Plant Yield

Abstract

Patchouli (Pogostemon cablin Benth.) is an essential oil–producing plant with high economic value. The vegetative stage plays a critical role in determining biomass production potential. This study evaluated the effect of Photosynthetic Bacteria (PSB) fertilizer on the vegetative growth of patchouli. The experiment was carried out in Kinalawiran Village, South Minahasa Regency, using a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with four treatments: control (no PSB), PSB 10 ml/L, PSB 20 ml/L, and PSB 30 ml/L, each replicated six times. Growth parameters observed were plant height, stem diameter, and fresh weight. Results showed that PSB application significantly improved all measured parameters. The 30 ml/L treatment produced the highest growth response; however, the linear trend observed across treatments indicated that the optimum dose had not yet been achieved within the tested range. Further studies with higher concentrations are recommended to determine the optimal PSB dosage for maximizing vegetative growth in patchouli. Keywords: Patchouli, vegetative phase, PSB, plant growth
