Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of visitor engagement, authenticity, and local culture on revisit intention with memorable tourism experience (MTE) as a mediating variable at Kampoeng Heritage Kajoetangan, Malang City, East Java Province, Indonesia. This study uses a quantitative approach with explanatory research methods and Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) analysis. The results show that visitor engagement and local culture have a positive and significant effect on revisit intention, while authenticity does not have a significant direct effect on revisit intention. However, visitor engagement, authenticity, and local culture have a positive and significant effect on memorable tourism experience. Furthermore, memorable tourism experience is proven to have a positive and significant effect on revisit intention and significantly mediates the relationship between visitor engagement, authenticity, and local culture on revisit intention. The memorable tourism experience variable has a significant influence in increasing tourists' revisit intention. This finding confirms that strengthening memorable tourism experience is a key strategy in increasing tourist loyalty and has the potential to support regional economic growth through increased tourism visits and consumption.
