Abstract

This research is based on the alignment of product differentiation strategies for halal product categories and types by integrating Islamic economic principles with Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. It aims to develop a Halal Product Differentiation Strategy Model within the creative economy cluster of Pekalongan, specifically focusing on Handloom Weaving (Alat Tenun Bukan Mesin / ATBM) through the integration of modern AI technology. This integration has become imperative due to rising demands for transparency in global supply chains, whereas traditional manual certification methods are lagging and increasingly require replacement by "digital authenticity." To ensure that traditional creative economy clusters do not lose their role within the Halal Industry 4.0—which demands high-level traceability—it is highly probable that despite their low level of embedded technology, balancing halal standardization will enable them to contribute more effectively to a creative economy that might otherwise lose its relevance. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach utilizing the Research and Development (R&D) method. Data were gathered through in-depth observations and interviews with ATBM MSMEs in Pekalongan, technology design experts, and Sharia experts (Halal Auditors). The collected data were systematically followed up using field-suitability techniques. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that product differentiation strategies for halal ATBM products can be successfully implemented through technology. Its role is highly critical in ensuring a sustainable halal system without disrupting or replacing the manual weaving process. In this manner, even though the management and designs are modernized, the spirit and craftsmanship integrity of ATBM can be fully preserved and reflected. This model offers a strategic pathway for local artisans to transform cultural heritage products into premium, highly competitive commodities. This study reinforces that the primary challenge lies in seamlessly integrating digital technology with Halal values to cultivate a sustainable competitive advantage in the global market.

Abstract

The drill method is commonly used in Arabic language instruction because repeated and structured practice can strengthen vocabulary, sentence patterns, reading routines, and other language skills. This study examines the relationship between drill-method implementation, students’ learning interest, and Arabic learning outcomes at MTs At-Taqwa Samarinda. A quantitative correlational design involved 148 students in grades 8 and 9, with 40 students selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected through classroom observation, four-point Likert-scale questionnaires, and documentation of official Arabic report-card scores. The drill-method and learning-interest questionnaires showed high internal consistency, with Cronbach’s alpha values of .901 and .922. Data were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics 26 through normality and linearity tests, Pearson Product-Moment correlation, and multivariate analysis. The results showed a moderate positive relationship between the drill method and learning interest (r = .593, p < .001). In contrast, the relationship between the drill method and Arabic learning outcomes was weak and not statistically significant (r = .168, p = .302). The multivariate test also showed no significant simultaneous relationship. Overall, drill activities were more consistently associated with student engagement than academic scores and should be combined with communicative practice, formative feedback, differentiated support, and varied learning media in instruction.
