Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) is one of the industries that not only contributes greatly to the local economy, but can also negatively impact the environment due to resource use, energy use, and waste production. As a result, the concept of sustainable MICE is developing, which integrates environmental, social, and economic elements in the implementation of MICE activities. This article aims to examine the implementation of the concept of Sustainable MICE in MICE venues based on previous research and identify opportunities for its implementation in Depok City. The desk review method is used to examine various publications, journals, and scientific articles related to sustainable event management and sustainable MICE. Studies show that the sustainable use of MICE in venues typically focuses on waste management, energy efficiency, reduction of single-use plastics, the use of digital technology, and cooperation between stakeholders. Nevertheless, barriers include limited infrastructure, high implementation costs, low participant awareness, and lack of consistent policies, according to several studies. This study found that research conducted on the sustainable use of MICE in locations like Depok is still very limited. Therefore, empirical research is needed to determine how ready MICE locations in Depok are to implement sustainability principles and support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 17 on cooperation to achieve sustainable development goals.
