Abstract

The development of Bandung City as a MICE destination requires a clear understanding of the stakeholders involved and their respective roles within the destination ecosystem. However, studies that specifically map MICE stakeholders in Bandung City remain limited. This study aims to identify the stakeholder groups involved in supporting the development of Bandung City as a MICE destination and to classify their roles within the MICE ecosystem. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach through desk research and document analysis. Data were collected from policy documents, official publications, literature, and relevant stakeholder discussion materials, then analyzed through data reduction, stakeholder categorization, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that Bandung City’s MICE ecosystem involves five main stakeholder groups: government, MICE industry and business actors, academics and educational institutions, local communities, and media and digital platforms. These stakeholders perform complementary roles as regulators, facilitators, policy integrators, service providers, promoters, human resource and innovation supporters, and destination attraction enhancers. The study concludes that Bandung City has strong basic capital as a MICE destination, particularly in infrastructure, accommodation, creative economy, culinary ecosystem, and connectivity. Nevertheless, cross-sector coordination, integrated promotion, and stakeholder role clarity still need to be strengthened to support a more collaborative, competitive, and sustainable MICE destination.
