Abstract

Antenatal care (ANC) is essential for monitoring maternal and fetal health, detecting pregnancy complications early, and providing health education. Compliance with ANC visits may be influenced by pregnant women’s knowledge and attitudes. This study analyzed the relationship between knowledge and attitudes and compliance with ANC visits at Ronaa Husada Clinic. An analytical quantitative cross-sectional design was applied to 65 respondents selected through consecutive sampling. Knowledge and attitudes were assessed using a Knowledge, Attitude, Practice questionnaire, while ANC compliance was verified through maternal and child health books and/or medical records. The association between knowledge and compliance was tested using the Fisher Exact Test, whereas the association between attitudes and compliance was assessed using the Chi-Square test. Forty respondents (61.5%) had good knowledge, 35 (53.8%) had positive attitudes, and 38 (58.5%) complied with ANC visits. Knowledge was significantly associated with compliance (p<0.001), as was attitude (p<0.001). Good knowledge and positive attitudes were associated with higher ANC visit compliance. Strengthened education, counseling, appointment reminders, and family involvement are needed to support consistent ANC attendance according to recommended standards.
