Abstract

Based on data from the World Health Organization, the global Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR) in 2023 was 197 per 100,000 live births, showing a decline from 203 per 100,000 live births in 2022 and 242 per 100,000 live births in 2021 (WHO, 2025). In addition, WHO reported a decrease in the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) from 28.1 per 1,000 live births in 2021, to 28.0 per 1,000 live births in 2022, and 27.1 per 1,000 live births in 2023. Continuity of Care (COC), which is a series of continuous and comprehensive maternity services covering pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, neonatal care, and family planning, plays an important role in reducing MMR and IMR because continuous midwifery care enables early detection of complications during pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period, thereby reducing the risk of maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality. The method used in this final assignment was interview, observation, and implementation of care management. The subject of this case study was Mrs. “D”, G2P1001, at 39 weeks and 2 days of gestation with a normal pregnancy at TPMB Midwife Ni Ketut Tini Ernawati, S.Keb. The results of the comprehensive midwifery care provided to Mrs. “D” during the third trimester of pregnancy, labor, postpartum period, neonatal period, and family planning were within normal limits, and no problems or complications were identified.
