Abstract

The Indonesian Ship Contest (KKI) is a maritime technology innovation competition for university students. The Shankara ship in the Electric Remote Control (ERC) category is at risk of hull leaks that could damage electronic components. This study designed an automatic leak detection and mitigation system based on the Arduino Nano, utilizing a water level sensor, a relay, and a 12V DC pump. The system operates by automatically activating the pump based on the sensor’s ADC reading when water reaches a threshold level. The research methodology includes system design and testing under static and dynamic boat conditions. Test results show that the system can accurately detect leaks and activate the pump at a volume of ±300 mL. The implementation of this system successfully improved the boat’s operational reliability and safety standards during the competition.
